About the Designation of Savings Excellence Award

Banks and Credit Unions play an important role in Military Saves Month by making it easy for their customers and members to save. When individuals utilize saving accounts they build financial security and financial institutions increase deposits, build goodwill, and strengthen relationships.

That’s why we recognize financial institutions that show exceptional achievement in Military Saves Month activities by awarding them the Designation of Savings Excellence.

Designees are recognized by:

Eligibility requirements:

  • Signed up to participate in the current year of Military Saves Month.
  • Demonstrated efforts in encouraging saving during Military Saves Month.
  • Complete the Designation of Saving Excellence Application which is included in the Military Saves Month Reporting Survey.
  • Submission of samples of marketing materials.

Awards will be given based on the completed information provided through the Designation of Savings Excellence Application within the Military Saves Month Reporting Survey.

About the Savings Champion Award

Every Military Saves Month, hundreds of participating organizations around the world, including non-profits, military installations, and government agencies, go the extra mile to help military families save money and assess their financial habits. We want to recognize those organizations who go above and beyond during Military Saves Month with our Savings Champion Award.

2021 Savings Champion: USS Makin Island

The Savings Champion Award is a national recognition that is awarded by Military Saves with the support of a selection committee comprised of staff and leadership in all program initiatives.

Winners are recognized by:

  • Military Saves Savings Champion Award.
  • A digital badge to display on your website and share on social media.
  • Recognition on MilitarySaves.org social media and email communications.
  • Recognition in a national press release and individually in local releases.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Signed up to participate in Military Saves Month.
  • Encourage the military community to make a commitment and savings plan through the Military Saves Pledge.
  • Promote MSM through a variety of events and social activities.
  • Complete the Savings Champion Application which is included in the Military Saves Month Reporting Survey.
  • Submission of samples of marketing materials.

Awards will be given based on the completed information provided through the Military Saves Month Reporting Survey.
